Hey JF crew - made the move from Chicago to San Francisco two weeks ago and am finally settling in.

Anyone here have good experience with a particular dealership and/or 4x4 shop in the area? Doesn't have to be in SF but surrounding Bay area is just fine.

Also - if anyone knows a solid Jeep club out here i'm all ears.

Cheers - JJMagoo (Josh)

Welcome to the Bay Area! I've had my 2015 Summit serviced at L & J Auto Brokers and they do a pretty good job and Boardwalk in Redwood City is okay too. Stewart Jeep in Colma isn't too far from you if you are in SF and that's where I bought my rig.

As you will find there are a lot of dealers here in the Bay Area, but like typical California, they are all spread out over a large area.

@dhasselbacher I checked out Stewart but they were super limited on services and timing so ended up with McKevitt in Berkeley will report back.
@justals thanks! Will keep L & J Auto Brokers on the list if needed.

May need an independent mechanic in the future since the new place doesn't have parking so my DIY efforts are extremely limited now too.

Great move, how are you coping with the hills? I'm in the South Bay and can strongly recommend L & J Auto Brokers for service.

The bad news is you are in CA so the off road options are very limited around SF. The good news is you a re only 2-3 hours away from the Rubicon Trail and conditions are great right now. Once all the snow melts you can also drive on most of the National Forest Fire Roads. If you want something easier, check out the La Gloria road from Gonzalez on 101 to Pinnacles National Park. If you want to do the classic California beach driving you have to head south for about 3 hours to Pismo Beach.

Good to know another option! Yea obviously not a TON right around here but we camp a ton so i'm looking forward to exploring around North and South CA for trails and camp spots. Will absolutely be considering the Rubicon Trail soon.
